Job Summary:
An ultrasonographer general position is available in Anchorage, Alaska. This role involves performing a variety of general and vascular ultrasound exams on patients of all ages, including neonates, children, and adults. The ultrasound technologist must possess a valid state license and bring their license on the first day of employment. Candidates are required to have at least one year of experience in general and vascular ultrasound procedures, and certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in abdomen and obstetrics/gynecology, and vascular technology (RVT). The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, totaling 8-hour evening shifts with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Job Details:

- Certifications and Credentials: BLS, ARDMS in abdomen and obstetrics/gynecology, ARDMS RVT; state license held in Oregon (pending license accepted; takes approximately 10-12 weeks)
- Experience: 1 year in general and vascular ultrasound procedures; previous experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Qualifications: Registered sonographer in general and vascular ultrasound; must bring license on first day; hold or be eligible to obtain a valid state license in Alaska
- Additional Requirements: Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year); references covering the last 12 months; Hep B vaccination series (no titers or declinations accepted)
- Clinical Skills: Ability to perform comprehensive ultrasound exams including obstetrics, abdominal, vascular, and specialty procedures as listed in the candidate profile; experience with multiple ultrasound machine brands and EMRs a plus
- Travel and Housing: Candidates must be at least 50 miles from the facility; housing options should be explored in the area as options may be limited; candidate must be willing to work in different hospital units and to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
- Other Notes: Candidate must be willing to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays; previous travel experience is preferred; references covering one year of recent work are required
