Job Summary:
The Ultrasonographer Echo (Cardiac Sonographer 1) position is based in Temple, Texas. Candidates are responsible for performing basic to intermediate cardiac ultrasound services, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms for adult patients. The role involves preparing equipment, explaining procedures to patients, reviewing images, and assisting physicians with complex procedures as needed. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Location: Temple, TX
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Tuesday through Saturday (Tuesday-Friday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm; Saturday 6:00 am - 2:00 pm)
- Shift: AM
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (AHA approved) and RCS or RDCS, along with a minimum of 3 years of working experience, including Level I Trauma experience. Candidates must be independent and self-sufficient. Education requirements include an appropriate degree for the role.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with complex sonographic principles and cardiac anatomy and physiology. Ability to effectively communicate with healthcare providers and patients, and knowledge of clinical protocols for cardiovascular ultrasound examinations.
- Additional Information: The role entails performing cardiac ultrasound procedures, assisting in transesophageal studies, preparing patients, maintaining equipment, and adhering to infection control standards. The sonographer acts as an educational resource to staff and participates in quality assurance activities.
