Job Summary:
Ultrasonographer Echo in a high-volume hospital setting. This full-time position involves performing diagnostic echocardiograms on adult and pediatric patients during day shifts. The role requires technical proficiency in cardiac imaging, effective coordination with hospital departments, and participation in quality improvement activities. Job Details:
- Schedule: Days, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; two-year allied health education program related to patient care; A.R.D.M.S./CCI registered or registry eligible or comparable national accreditation; State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License; BLS certification issued through American Heart Association.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience performing echocardiograms is preferred.
- Responsibilities:
- Perform technically proficient 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac exams.
- Coordinate activities with hospital departments, including scheduling exams, transporting patients, and ensuring billing accuracy.
- Assist cardiologists during exams by preparing measurements and exchanging pertinent information.
- Manage echo supplies and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Log patient and exam records and participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
- Share responsibility for on-call coverage for emergency echocardiograms outside regular hours as per department policy.
- Maintain equipment quality control and coordinate repair services as needed.
- Keep current with developments in the field of echocardiography and seek mentorship for new skills.
- Assist with other cardiac procedures as required.
- Additional Information: Backfill replacement for staff member; no specific requirements regarding experience beyond qualifications listed.
