Job Summary
Ultrasonographer Echo in a tertiary care hospital is responsible for performing high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs), stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs) within a fast-paced, acute patient environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to deliver advanced imaging diagnostics, collaborate with cardiologists, and contribute to patient care during a dynamic and multidisciplinary setting.
Job Details
- Schedule: Rotating days shifts including rotating weekends.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of echocardiography experience, at least 2+ years of acute inpatient echocardiography experience in a level I trauma center, proficiency in a wide range of high-quality echocardiographic procedures including transthoracic (TTE), stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal (TEE) echocardiograms, with appropriate use of 3D echocardiography and strain imaging. In-depth knowledge of complex cardiac anatomy and pathology. Strict adherence to lab standards and protocols to ensure consistency and diagnostic accuracy.
- Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in optimizing image quality through meticulous scanning techniques, equipment settings, and ultrasound contrast agents; ability to efficiently manage high-volume workflows; strong patient care and communication skills; effective time management skills; commitment to team collaboration and continuous improvement through active participation in case reviews and educational sessions; adherence to American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) and Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) standards.
- Schedule: 10-hour daily shifts, totaling 40 hours per week, with rotating days and weekend shifts, including overnight call from 5:30 PM to 6:30 AM, approximately 2-3 nights per month. Call shifts are to be approved by cardiologists and follow strict guidelines.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include maintaining clinical standards, managing high-volume workloads efficiently in a critical care environment, and participating in quality assurance and educational activities relevant to echocardiography.
