Job Summary:
Ultrasonographer Echocardiography (Echo) – This position is located in a fast-paced, tertiary care hospital with a level I trauma center. The role involves providing high-quality echocardiographic imaging and assessments in a dynamic environment, including rotating days shifts and periodic on-call responsibilities. The position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient care in a critical setting with a multidisciplinary team.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating days shifts to include rotating weekends. Call responsibilities from 5:30pm to 6:30am, with 2-3 nights per month, following strict guidelines and requiring cardiologist approval. Shifts are 10 hours, from 7:00AM to 5:30PM.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of echocardiography experience, including at least 2+ years of acute inpatient echocardiography at a Level I trauma facility. Proficiency in a wide spectrum of high-quality echocardiography procedures that meet accreditation standards, such as transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs), stress echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs), with appropriate use of 3D echocardiography and strain imaging. In-depth knowledge of complex cardiac anatomy and pathology to ensure precise imaging and comprehensive assessments. Strict adherence to lab standards and protocols to maintain consistency and diagnostic accuracy. Expertise in optimizing image quality through meticulous scanning techniques, appropriate equipment settings, and effective use of ultrasound contrast agents. Ability to manage high-volume workflows while maintaining diagnostic excellence. Exceptional communication skills to ensure patient comfort and understanding. Strong time management skills to balance workload and ensure timely completion of studies. Commitment to a collaborative team environment, engaging in case reviews, feedback sessions, and educational activities with sonographers, cardiologists, and fellows. Compliance with American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) and Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) standards.
