Job Summary
Ultrasonographer Echo—located in an organization providing advanced pediatric and adult echocardiography services. This position involves performing echocardiographic studies within the complete spectrum of diagnoses seen in fetal congenital heart disease, pediatric heart disease, as well as adult congenital echocardiography. The role requires recognizing and triaging emergent situations, providing written communication to cardiologists, and maintaining equipment across NICU, PICU, and Cardiac ICU settings.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education, and Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in pediatric sonography, with extensive understanding of congenital and unusual forms of non-congenital heart disease. BLS and ARDMS certification required; registry in Pediatric Echocardiography preferred. Fetal Echo encouraged; adult echo experience a plus.
- Schedule: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Responsibilities: Perform echocardiographic studies across fetal, pediatric, and adult congenital heart conditions. Recognize and manage emergent situations, communicate findings to cardiologists through written reports, maintain and operate equipment, and log/bill procedures appropriately.
- Equipment Used: Phillips scanners, Epic and PACS Fuji CV Synapse EMR systems.
- Orientation Period: 1-2 weeks.
- Floating: Occasional float to Inova Fairfax Hospital Campus may be required.
