Job Summary:
Speech Language Pathologist Inpatient (SLP IP) — Salinas, CA. The organization is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to assess referred patients and develop speech therapy intervention plans. Responsibilities include scheduling and documenting treatments, providing instruction to patients, families, and hospital staff, and supporting students in the treatment and rehabilitation process. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 4 days, 10 hr shifts; 8 shift hours; minimum 40.0 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: California Speech Therapy License; Basic Life Support (BLS); graduation from an accredited speech therapy program; Epic experience (minimum six (6) – twelve (12) months within the past year); acute inpatient hospital experience; ability to perform modified barium swallows; capability to jump in with little training; demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served

  • Additional Information: Provides high-quality and safe patient care, including assessment, care plan development compatible with physician, patient, and family goals; completes necessary documentation related to patient treatment; assists in returning patients to the highest degree of independence possible; maintains a cost-effective treatment plan; assists in orientation of new employees and volunteers; adheres to established hospital safety standards; supports achievement of department objectives; ensures courtesy standards for individuals who work for, are serviced by, or are associated with the hospital
