Job Summary
Speech Language Pathologist, Inpatient — Plantation, FL. The organization is seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist to provide inpatient speech, language, and dysphagia services, including swallow evaluations and dysphagia treatments. Candidates must bring their license on the first day of employment and be able to complete evaluations and treatment plans independently based on unit needs.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Days (Shift Time: Days; Shift Hours: 8; Minimum Hours Per Week: 40)
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association)
    • Florida Speech Language Pathology License (Provisional licenses not accepted)
    • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with adult/geriatric populations in acute care, including swallow evaluations and dysphagia treatments
    • Experience performing all listed procedures independently in a fast-paced environment, with limited training capabilities
  • Additional Information:
    • Full caseload is approximately 10–12 patients
    • Equipment required: Modified Barium Swallow (MBS)/fluoroscopy; MBS must be fully proficient and experienced in performing MBS
    • Documentation system: Meditech
    • Call requirements: None
    • Typical procedures performed: swallow evaluations (including post-extubation, stroke protocol, pneumonia, failure to thrive, AMS), speech and language evaluations and treatments, dysphagia treatments
    • Dress code: Light grey scrub color; any solid color scrubs allowed at this time
    • Note: One position is available for contract replacement
