Job Summary:
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Inpatient position located in en_US. This role involves evaluating assigned patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support patient discharges. The position is part of an initial 26-week contract with an option for extension, focused on delivering high-quality care in a hospital setting.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist; current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association; BLS Certification; one or more years of clinical experience; FEES Certified.

  • Promotes patient and employee safety, focusing on safe patient handling, infectious diseases, slips/trips and falls, and work environment safety.
  • Completes comprehensive evaluations, utilizing clinical reasoning to develop and adjust treatment plans aimed at progressing patients towards discharge within established lengths of stay.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to address barriers to discharge, including equipment trialing, patient and family education, and planning for ongoing services.
  • Manages individual and group treatment sessions effectively and efficiently based on patient care needs.
  • Documents medical records clearly, accurately, and timely, including goal setting, functional assessments, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with relevant state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
  • Participates in student programs and provides supervision, fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Actively pursues professional development through continuing education and involvement in professional organizations.
  • Engages in patient and community advocacy activities, including health fairs and professional memberships.
  • Maintains licensure and completes mandated continuing education; adheres to all regulatory and ethical standards.
  • Contributes to performance improvement initiatives, offering feedback and participating in organizational efforts to enhance service quality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
