Respiratory Therapist (RT) – Peds | Salem, Virginia
The Respiratory Therapist will support pediatric and critical care respiratory services within an acute-care setting. Responsibilities include performing respiratory treatments, obtaining blood gases, and managing therapies such as Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) and ventilator support. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days; 12 hours per shift; minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Basic floor therapies; Nebulizer (Neb.) treatment; Chest Physiotherapy (CPT); management of nocturnal Pulse Oximetry (Pulse Oxi); obtain arterial blood gases (ABGs); Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) management; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Meditech experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Ventilator and BiPAP management; intensive care unit (ICU) experience
- Additional Information: Floating may be required to Critical Care Intermediate Care Unit (CICU), Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), and step-down units. Weekend and on-call coverage may be required with rotating weekends on 12-hour shifts.
