Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist, Registered position available in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This role involves providing advanced respiratory care, including airway management, mechanical ventilator management, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and other respiratory procedures. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Location: Chapel Hill, North Carolina
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required; certifications in ACLS, NRP, PALS, CPFT or an advanced practice certificate to administer moderate sedation in the Bronchoscopy Lab; dependent upon the population served, all certifications must be maintained as required by the certifying body; two (2) years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist; ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical information and technical procedures; ability to document clinical information; effective communication skills; mathematical reasoning; problem solving; ability to interpret technical situations; location requirements of North Carolina.
- Additional Information: This position requires administering competent care for patients through airway management, mechanical ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and aerosol therapy. Responsibilities include airway management procedures such as tracheostomy care, endotracheal intubations, extubations, and possibly pediatric and neonatal patient transport. Advanced procedures like UAC, UVC, IV insertion, chest tube insertion, blood gases, ECMO management, and respiratory testing may also be involved. Candidates will be expected to function independently with minimal supervision and serve as a resource to other staff. May be required to work on-call including day, night, weekends, and holidays.
