Job Summary: Registered Nurse (Telemetry) — Athens, TX
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry unit, supporting adult patient care with a focus on cardiac patients across the young adult to geriatric population. Responsibilities include monitoring cardiac telemetry and providing bedside care for patients recovering from cardiac interventions and other related conditions. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 3 x 12-hour Nights shifts; minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) (BLS); National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) (NIHSS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (ACLS); state or compact license in hand at time of submittal; charting experience with Epic (Charting System Experience: Required)
- Preferred Qualifications: 2 years of experience; travel experience preferred
- Responsibilities: Provide telemetry care, including telemetry-on-unit monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias; manage infusion and protocol-based care such as heparin protocols and IV insulin protocols; administer and monitor oxygen therapy, including high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and non-invasive airway management; provide central line/port care and management; support arterial line management and post-procedural care related to cardiac angiogram and catheterization; perform pre- and post-care for cardiac surgery and cardiac interventions; support peri-procedural care including sheath removal and other unit-specific post-intervention needs; provide feeding tube care and management and PCA (patient-controlled analgesia) support; support hemodialysis-related care for pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure; manage vasoactive drips (no titration as specified); provide tracheostomy care/management (as applicable) and participate in rapid response/code support (as applicable); follow isolation precautions and use appropriate PPE; perform wound care and wound vac support
- Additional Information: Patient ratios are 1:5–6 on nights; weekends require coverage on half of the contract.
