Job Summary: Step Down (Step Down Unit) Nurse — Quincy, IL. This role supports a 24-bed acute care step down unit providing care for patients with dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary conditions, sepsis, high-flow oxygen needs, and behavior patients requiring IV drip medications. The schedule is 12-hour days, with staffing ratios that depend on acuity and ongoing support from an educator working closely with staff. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12 hr Days; minimum 36.0 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active license (license to submit: Yes); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification; National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); BSN required; minimum 2 year(s) of experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
- Additional Information: 24-bed unit with staffing ratios of 1:3/4 depending on acuity. Patient care may include IV drip medications such as dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amio, dobutamine, and Nicardine. May work up to every other weekend. Throughput is high, consistent with step down unit needs. Trauma level: 2. Cancellation policy: 3 shifts per 13 week or more contract; 2 shifts per 12 week or less contract.
