Job Summary:
An experienced Tele Intermediate Nurse is needed in Galesburg, Illinois. This 12-hour night shift position involves providing care to patients with various diagnoses, including CHF, COVID pneumonia, and arrhythmias, in an acute care setting. Candidates are required to bring their active Illinois nursing license on the first day. The role involves floating to different units and completing a floor-specific orientation.

Job Details:

  • Location: Galesburg, Illinois
  • Position Type: Tele Intermediate Nurse in a Step Down Unit
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 07/06/2026
  • Required Qualifications: Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that application has been initiated, BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA); minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a similar setting.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in step down or telemetry units; familiarity with EPIC charting system; ability to float to different units as needed.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required; travelers expected to float, taking the same patient ratio on their assigned unit of 1:5.
  • Additional Information:
    • Charge Nurse takes patients
    • Nurse Aides: Techs (1:9 ratio)
    • Common patient diagnoses include CHF, COVID pneumonia, Afib with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, and syncope
    • Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA) are required
    • Shift includes every other holiday
    • No vents; use of Bipap, Cpap, HF/Vapotherm supported
    • In-house hospitalist from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; APN available with e-hospitalist support
    • 24/7 telemetry, pharmacy support; nursing DO NOT mix medications during shifts
    • Floor-specific orientation involves one hospital shift and two unit shifts (one day, one night)
    • Surgeons will perform a 12-hour orientation
    • Charting system: EPIC
    • Last four digits of clinician’s SSN required for submission
    • No BSN required
    • Shift notes override any restrictions on the work schedule or pay details
