Step Down Unit Nurse – Asheville, NC. This role involves providing skilled care for patients with cardiac and complex medical conditions in a 40-bed step down unit. Job Details
- Location: Asheville, NC
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS certifications; associates or higher degree in Nursing; open to candidates with no minimum years of experience; must have step down or progressive care experience, telemetry experience, and familiarity with titratable or cardiac intravenous (IV) medications such as nitroglycerine, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutrex, insulin drip, heparin, bumex/Lasix; ability to float across all Medical-Surgical units, step down units, COVID unit, and ER holding.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin); relief charge experience.
- Responsibilities include administering cardiac medications, patient assessments, and following unit policies and guidelines. Clinical skills involving bedside cardioversion and proficiency with EMR systems are essential.
- Submission requires current licensure and certifications, with availability to start on 10/26/2026 through 01/25/2027.
- Note: This position is for one Nurse on the night shift, with every other weekend scheduled.
