Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is sought for a position in Shelby, North Carolina. The role involves providing high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population with various diagnoses, including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and abdominal conditions. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Location: Shelby, North Carolina
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend rotation, with no call requirement, and a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; 18 months of prior PCU RN experience; experience with tracheostomies, cardiac gtt management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care and dressing changes, and management of central lines.
- Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) system EPIC; ability to support within a region including Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, Central Division (main hospital and affiliates).
- Additional Information: Support staff includes Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), receptionists, and health unit coordinators; support services such as RT, hospitalists, intensivists, and telemetry monitoring are available 24/7; orientation includes two days of departmental training; participation in every other weekend rotation with a family-oriented unit culture; free parking; scrub color navy.
