Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit. This position provides care for cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac surgical, vascular, pulmonary hypertension, and congestive heart failure patients in a step-down setting. The role supports telemetry, hemodynamic monitoring, complex post-surgical care, and a rotating day and night schedule.
Job Details
- Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1.5 years of recent equivalent experience.
- New Hampshire registered nurse license or Compact license, with proof of state residency required for Compact licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Additional Information:
- Provides care for cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac surgical, vascular, pulmonary hypertension, and congestive heart failure patients in a 48-bed step-down setting.
- Manages telemetry, hemodynamic monitoring, and invasive blood pressure monitoring through arterial lines.
- Provides care for chest tubes; central lines; post-surgical lines, tubes, and drains; tracheostomies and laryngectomies; complex wounds; external pacemakers; epicardial wires; and transradial bands.
- Manages cardiac medications and infusions, including diltiazem, heparin, furosemide, insulin, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, milrinone, dobutamine, dopamine, low-dose vasopressors, vasoactive medications, and inotropes.
- Provides care for patients requiring bilevel positive airway pressure and continuous positive airway pressure.
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:3 on days and 1:4–5 on nights, depending on patient acuity.
- Anticipated assignment dates are 11/23/2026 through 02/20/2027.
