Job Summary:
A registered nurse (RN) with experience in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is sought for a facility located in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. The selected candidate will provide specialized nursing care to patients with diagnoses such as stroke, pneumonia, cellulitis, altered mental status, chest pain, atrial fibrillation, COPD, and other common conditions. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: Kings Mountain, North Carolina
- Shift: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Schedule: Every 6 weeks cycle with weekend rotations every other week, no call required, and travelers will work 75% of holidays
- Required Qualifications: Active RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, 18 months of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, and flexibility to float to regionally designated facilities within scope of practice
- Skills Needed: Essential nursing functions, teamwork, effective communication, experience with tracheostomies, cardiac infusion therapy, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, and management of central lines
- Orientation: 2 days departmental orientation in New Electronic Orientation (NEO)
- Support within the Department: Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs) for activities of daily living, vital signs, fingerstick blood glucose, telemetry monitoring, and assistance with admissions/discharges, receptionists/human resources coordinators, charge nurses, phlebotomists, resource nurses, respiratory therapists available 24/7, hospitalist team operating 24/7, telemetry monitoring at nurses' station and central bunker
