Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Greenville, North Carolina. This position involves providing bedside care in a palliative care inpatient unit, with responsibilities including symptom management and end-of-life care for patients with various chronic conditions. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Location: Greenville, North Carolina
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, multi-state licensure, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for at least 1 year, experience with EPIC electronic medical record system, minimum of 80 miles radius preferred
- Responsibilities: IV insertion, PICC line placement, reading strips, central line management, tracheotomy patient care, ostomy management, wound vac care, Foley catheter management, peripheral lab and arterial blood draws, Dubhoff/NGT placement and management, manage various intravenous drips (e.g., cardiac, insulin, heparin), monitor cardiac rhythms, epidurals, vents, medication administration, wound care, and use of ancillary staff as needed
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with epidurals, ventilators, and specific medications such as insulin glues, heparin drips, morphine, and Dilaudid, experience with wound vacs, PCA, trachs, and the ability to interpret strips within EPIC system
- Additional Information: Relias exams are required to pass upon booking with 2 attempts; failure of the second attempt may result in pre-start cancellation.
