Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit. This position provides comprehensive nursing care for patients by assessing needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, evaluating outcomes, and documenting care. The role coordinates with patients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams while supporting safe, effective, and patient-centered outcomes.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, temporary or interim Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, or compact Registered Nurse (RN) licensure; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; minimum of one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting for travel acute care assignments, including experience in the specialty area within the past 12 months.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and professional certification preferred. Additional related education or experience preferred.
- Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, direct care delivery, delegation and supervision, patient and family education, interdisciplinary communication, evaluation of outcomes, and timely clinical documentation. Weekend and holiday rotation is required. The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, stretching, and use of proper body mechanics when assisting patients. The role may require lifting up to 75 pounds and adherence to standard precautions when exposed to blood or bodily fluids.
