Job Details:
- Position: Progressive Care Unit
- Location: Asheville, North Carolina
- Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid healthcare license; certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); neuro and trauma care experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Neuro and trauma care experience
- Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Additional Information:
- Unit Information: 44 beds, staffed by 95 team members, including 11 Registered Nurses (RNs), 4 Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), 1 Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), and 2 Certified Nurse Certified (CNC)/Charge staff per shift.
- Patient Ratios: 4:1 at grid, stretched to 5:1.
- Equipment used includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trachs, and patient lifts.
- EMR system: Cerner.
- Typical procedures performed: neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, TLSO braces, chest tube management, PCA pump and IV infusions, lumber drains, feeding tube placement, blood transfusion.
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs.
- Will float to stepdown and medical-surgical units as needed.
- Every other weekend work, with potential on-call.
