Job Summary:
A travel Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Pre-Operative (Pre-Op) care is needed for a facility in Wichita, Kansas. This position requires candidates to bring their license on the first day. The role involves providing preoperative nursing care in a dedicated Pre-Op Holding / ASU unit, with a focus on patient experience, staff communication, and adherence to unit policies. The assignment is scheduled to begin on 07/27/2026.
Job Details:
- Location: Wichita, KS
- Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Required Qualifications: Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); minimum 1-year current acute care Pre-Operative RN hospital experience; proficiency in Meditech electronic medical record system; must have current licensed RN credentials, and meet educational requirements.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior Pre-Operative experience; familiarity with Meditech; ability to assist with pre-op procedures such as Phase 2 recoveries, outpatient infusions, outpatient EKGs, blood transfusions, and various outpatient procedures.
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Patient experience is prioritized. Effective communication with staff and providers is essential. The unit may have new equipment or technology, and the team has varying levels of experience and tenure. Candidates should be flexible and ready to adapt to schedule options, including on-call weekend shifts. On-call responsibilities include two 10-hour weekend shifts every 8-9 weekends with a 30-minute response time.
