Job Summary: Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN) — Nights — Wichita, Kansas. This position supports postpartum care within a women’s hospital/postpartum unit providing breastfeeding support, postpartum hemorrhage management, and patient education as part of a high-volume service. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), 12 shift hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; Minimum 1-year current acute care postpartum hospital experience; RN licensure; Experience caring for postpartum patients.
- Preferred Qualifications: High-risk postpartum experience; Level 2 Nursery experience.
- Responsibilities:
- Provide postpartum care, including hypertension assessment and management
- Support breastfeeding
- Assist with postpartum hemorrhage management
- Assist with circumcision
- Perform point-of-care (POC) glucose monitoring as needed
- Additional Information:
- Postpartum unit care includes a patient ratio of 3–4 couplets per RN.
- Scheduling is flexible, and the healthcare provider may be accommodated as able.
- The unit is described as a close-knit team of nurses and patient care technicians (PCTs) working together in a busy postpartum environment.
