Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Pediatric Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This role involves caring for primarily pediatric patients (ages 0-17) post-surgery or procedures, with some adult patient care based on unit needs. Candidates must have their nursing license and are required to bring it on the first day of assignment. The position focuses on managing patients with various surgical diagnoses and utilizing advanced equipment and technology in a fast-paced, open bay unit.
Job Details:
- Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina
- Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; minimum of 0 years of experience; certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Preferred Qualifications: 1-2 years of experience in critical care pediatric settings.
- Responsibilities: Providing postoperative care to pediatric patients, managing medications such as heparin and insulin, and supervising vented patients, with occasional adult patient care. Maintaining patient safety and comfort, utilizing monitors and infusion pumps, and collaborating within an open bay setting.
- Technology/Equipment: EPIC electronic medical record system, Alaris IV Pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing system, Philips monitors.
- Orientation: NEO day with facility, including two precepted shifts.
- Additional Information: Scrubs provided; parking is free. Candidates should be self-motivated, resourceful, a team player, and comfortable managing ICU-level medications and equipment.
