Job Summary:
The post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) is seeking a qualified registered nurse to join the team at a facility located in Oakland, California. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing skilled, compassionate, and efficient post-operative nursing care to recovery patients. Candidates are required to bring their valid California RN license on the first day of work.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Variable shift start times (8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM); 10 hours per shift; minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: California RN license, required certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). A minimum of 0 years of experience is generally acceptable, with 3 years of preferred experience; candidates must have recent Nursys verification within the last 2 weeks and valid certifications with expiration dates uploaded.
- Preferred Qualifications: Community hospital experience and previous charge experience are preferred.
- Float: Float rotation may be required within the department to Phase 2 recovery.
- Additional Information: The role involves managing post-Operative and Phase I & II recovery activities, utilizing advanced skills such as End-Tidal Carbon Dioxide (CO2) monitoring, airway assessment, invasive line management, and sedation procedures. Candidates will be involved in a broad scope of procedures including cardiac, neuro, orthopedic, and vascular surgeries. The daily census is approximately 30 patients with 13 treatment rooms.
