Job Summary:
A Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Baltimore, Maryland. The role involves providing specialized peri-anesthesia care to adult and geriatric patients, including those with traumatic injuries. Candidates are required to bring their licensed RN MD license on the first day of assignment. The position offers a dynamic working environment with a focus on critical patient care and clinical flexibility.

Job Details:

  • Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (day, evening, night rotation) from 07:00 to 19:30 and 19:00 to 07:30, with a minimum of 36 hours per week

  • Certifications/License Requirements: Active RN MD license, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); Immunizations as scheduled are mandatory
  • Experience: At least 2 years ICU experience; ICU + PACU experience preferred; Experience with EMR system Epic
  • Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
  • Additional Unit Details: The PACU is a 12-bay unit specializing in traumatic injury management, with services operating 24/7. The team provides peri-anesthesia care for patients undergoing surgical or emergency procedures, including ventilated patient care, blood product administration, titration of vasopressors, and airway management. Nurses must be competent in managing complex critical care situations and adaptable to floating across units such as ICU, pre-op, and other sister facilities.
  • Scheduling & Staffing: Two patient ratios during days and nights, with three weekend shifts per four-week schedule. Float rotation may be required to other units as needed.
  • Additional Notes: Candidate must be comfortable with procedural and critical care interventions characteristic of a Level I, II, or III Trauma Center environment. Compliance with local rules regarding distance from the facility (minimum 50 miles) is required.
  • Submission Requirements: Active RN MD license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications, and flu vaccination.
  • Vaccinations: Flu vaccine mandated, no exemptions.
