Job Summary
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Open Heart — Day-shift nursing assignment providing care for neonatal through young adult patients with complex congenital cardiac conditions, including postoperative recovery, heart failure, arrhythmias, transplantation, and ventricular assist device support. The role supports patients in a pediatric cardiovascular intensive care unit and overflow setting with nurse-to-patient ratios based on acuity.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), pediatric cardiovascular intensive care unit experience, and an active nursing license.
- Additional Information: Provides care for patients with congenital heart disease and defects, post-surgical repairs, heart failure, arrhythmias, transplant needs, and ventricular assist devices. Patient ages range from neonatal through young adult, with occasional adult congenital heart disease patients. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1, 1:2 for intensive care unit status, and 1:3 for stepdown or non-intensive care unit patients in the overflow unit. The assignment runs from 11/16/2026 through 02/14/2027.
