Job Summary
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Open Heart (PICU OH) — an organization seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit specialized in open heart procedures. This position is located at a hospital within the organization’s network and involves providing specialized care for pediatric patients in a critical care setting. The role requires flexibility to work rotating day and night shifts over a 13-week assignment period.

Job Details

  • Schedule: 12-hour rotating days and nights, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: BSN degree required or ADN accepted with 6+ years of relevant experience; active Colorado RN License or Multi-State Compact License; certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS); minimum 2-3 years of staff registered nurse experience in a dedicated Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (CVPICU) or Pediatric CICU Open Heart setting; previous travel experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRNeonatal experience in Pediatric ICU considered a strong plus. VAD (Ventricular Assist Device) experience preferred. Teaching hospital experience strongly preferred.
  • Additional Information: Candidate must be available during specific blackout dates and be willing to work at least two of the three designated holiday dates. Up to 75% of scheduled shifts may fall on weekends. Float within the campus may be required as needed; candidates can be floated within 35 miles of the original facility unless specified otherwise. Seasonal influenza vaccination is mandatory, with exemption requests accepted based on medical or religious grounds.
