Job Summary:
A Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized critical care to pediatric patients in a state-of-the-art, comprehensive facility. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Location: Madison, WI
- Shift: Rotating, Day/Evening, 12-hour shifts, 7:00am-7:30pm, Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 48.0 hours
- Required Qualifications: BLS and PALS certifications, WI RN or compact RN license, 3 years of experience in a high acuity hospital, strong Pediatric ICU experience, at least 1 year of cardiovascular experience, 2 years of recent acute care experience in the specialty, Epic electronic medical records (EMR) experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with telemetry, high acuity hospital setting, pediatric critical care procedures, and certifications related to pediatric and neonatal critical care
- Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Special Skills: End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, managing ports, arterial and central line management, ECMO, ventilator management, pediatric dosage calculations, PEWS scoring, post-surgical care, and advanced airway management
Additional job responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, invasive procedures, critical monitoring, medication administration, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Candidates must pass a telemetry test prior to start and meet strict vaccination and competency requirements.
