Job Summary:
The location is Aurora, Colorado. This is a Pediatric Oncology registered nurse (RN) role at a teaching hospital’s pediatric hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant unit. The position involves night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with a schedule of every other weekend. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment. The assignment duration is 13 weeks, starting on 07/21/2026, with the possibility of floating to other units within the facility and to North/South campuses.

Job Details:

  • Experience Requirements: Minimum 2 years Pediatric RN experience, including at least 2 years in Hematology / Oncology / BMT; prior travel experience required.
  • Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross), APHON Chemo/Biotherapy Certification (required), BMT Certification (preferred).
  • Additional Qualifications: Experience with ports and central line access/care; comfort with floating within the facility; strong IV start skills (expert level preferred).
  • Unit Overview: The unit has 48 beds with cardiac and respiratory monitoring available, specializes in medical oncology, hematology, and bone marrow transplant, and is a teaching facility with level I trauma designation.
  • Patient Ratios: 1:2 (BMT), 1:3 (Chemo), max 1:4 based on acuity.
  • Schedule Requirements: Every other weekend (Friday & Saturday nights); must work at least 1 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s).
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to various units including Level 6, 8, 9, 10, NICU, and other campuses.
  • Special Notes: No holiday RTO allowed, no RTO approved within the first 2 weeks of assignment. Medical/religious flu exemption requests are permitted if submitted with the file.
