Job Summary:
The Operating Room Open Heart specialist is needed at the organization for a 26-week assignment beginning on 11/16/2026. This role involves working in a high-volume hospital performing complex cardiac surgeries, with responsibilities including scrubbing and circulating within a Level 1 trauma environment. The position requires flexibility to float between operating rooms and participation in a 24-7 call rotation.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Shift hours are 12 hours per day, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years of cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) experience, prior travel experience, and ability to scrub in cardiac surgeries.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with complex CABG, valve procedures, ECMO, VAD, transplants, and adult congenital cases.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: Orientation dates are scheduled for 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, and 11/16, with no orientation on 10/19. The position involves call requirements 24-7, which occur in three layers, and includes working two of three holidays. Call and work hours may vary based on unit needs; unit cannot offer a block schedule. Candidates must be willing to take call on a rotating basis and work all scheduled shifts.
