Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Open Heart (OH) RN opportunity in a major metropolitan area. This position involves providing specialized cardiovascular, neurovascular, and vascular surgical support within the hospital's cardiovascular operating room. The assignment lasts 13 weeks, offering an engaging environment for experienced cardiovascular surgical nurses.
Job Details
- Schedule: 10-hour days, from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Florida RN license or Compact RN license, BLS certification; recent 2-3 years of RN experience including at least 12 months in a Level 1 trauma facility or academic medical institution’s cardiac, neuro, or vascular units; recent CARDIAC (OPEN HEART) experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: ACLS certification, Epic electronic medical record experience, strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills, scrub and circulate experience, ability to work some weekends and call, flexibility in scheduling.
- Additional Information: Candidates must pass a specialty competency exam including EKG interpretation with an 80% minimum score and correctly identify lethal rhythms. Orientation includes additional testing and unit manager interview. No work history gaps over 30 days without documented explanation are permitted.
- Certification & Licensure: Active Florida RN license or Compact RN license required at submission.
