Job Summary:
The Operating Room (OR) Open Heart Registered Nurse (RN) position is based in a healthcare facility location. This assignment involves working in cardiovascular operating rooms with a focus on open heart procedures. The role requires flexibility to cover cardiac, neuro, and vascular cases, including scrub and circulate duties, with opportunities for some weekends and call shifts. The assignment duration is 13 weeks, starting in October 2026.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 10-hour days, from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active Florida RN license or Compact RN license (must be included in submission file). Recent cardiac (open heart) experience with at least 2 years as a CVOR RN; last 12 months must include at least one assignment at a Level 1 trauma facility or an academic medical institution. Candidates must have at least 2-3 years as an RN, with prior travel experience. BLS certification required; TNCC and ACLS preferred. Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience required.
- Preferred Qualifications: BLS certification, TNCC, and ACLS preferred.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: Candidates must pass a basic specialty competency exam, including EKG mapping and interpretation with an 80% passing score. All new RN starts must pass associated testing with a 100% correct identification of lethal rhythms. No work history gaps over 30 days without explanation. Resume should include facility type, EMR, and bed count; at least one professional reference within the last 12 months. No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of assignment; a maximum of 8 RTO days for the full 13 weeks.
