Job Summary:
This CardioVascular Operating Room (CVOR) Nurse position is located on the 2nd floor of a healthcare facility in Houston, Texas. The role involves supporting a dedicated cardiovascular surgery unit specializing in cardiac and vascular procedures, including complex surgeries such as dissection, thoracoabdominal approach cases, sternotomy, CABG/AVR/MVR, VSD repair, Impella/ECMO insertion, ascending/descending aorta repair, thoracic robotic cases, and TAVRs. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Location: Houston, Texas
- Position Type: Healthcare professional (HCP) - Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH)
- Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS certifications; at least 2 years of CVOR experience exclusively in cardiac and vascular surgery; scrub and circulate experience of 5 years; current license.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a fast-paced environment and ability to work well under pressure.
- Additional Information:
- Unit consists of 5 CVORs including 1 hybrid and 1 hybrid shared with the catheterization laboratory.
- Staffing includes 7 registered nurses (with one clinical nurse coordinator, one PRN, and one part-time) and 6 surgical technologists.
- Call is required, including weekends.
- Black scrubs are provided by the CVOR unit.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
