The Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) registered nurse position is located in Greenville, North Carolina. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a busy surgical environment focused on cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Valid North Carolina or Compact License, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, no minimum years of experience required.
- Schedule: Days shift, 40 hours per week, with a 10-hour shift time (0700 - 1700 or 0900 - 1900).
- Additional Information: Call and weekend call are required; the assignment duration is 13 weeks.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Responsibilities: Managing circulating and scrub nurse duties within operating rooms performing cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgeries including procedures like coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repairs, transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVR), endovascular aneurysm repairs, thoracotomies, and minimally invasive surgeries. The role involves patient care for complex surgical populations, assisting in maintaining a sterile environment, and managing surgical equipment and supplies, ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.
