Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart Surgery Nurse (CVOR) in Gainesville, Florida. This position requires providing specialized circulating nursing care in a Cardiovascular Operating Room environment. - Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field; Minimum of 1 year of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) circulating experience; Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- Additional Information: Prior CVOR experience of 1 year or greater is required. The unit performs procedures such as Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG), Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), and Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS). The documentation system used is Meditech. The nurse must have advanced skills related to CVOR procedures. The unit staffing includes RNs and surgical technicians, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Unit Specifics: The CVOR unit has 3 operating rooms and a patient ratio of 1:1. It operates within a large acute care facility that is fully accredited and certified as a Primary Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center.
