Job Summary:
The operating room (OR) registered nurse (RN) position is located in Fort Worth, TX. This role involves providing specialized nursing care within a busy surgical unit performing various high-volume procedures, including general, neurosurgery, robotic, urology, plastic, and transplant surgeries. Candidates are required to bring their active Texas RN license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Location: Fort Worth, TX
- Shift Schedule: 10-hour shifts, with scheduled days being Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts), or Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM (10-hour shifts).
- Required Qualifications: Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIH (National Institutes of Health) certification, OR experience in a hospital setting, neurosurgery experience, a minimum of 2 years OR experience in an acute care environment, and at least 2 years of hospital or specialty experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Robotic surgical experience and Meditech electronic medical record system experience.
- Additional Information: Assignment length is 13 weeks with a guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week. Floating policy requires as-needed flexibility. Patient ratios are 1/1. and staffing includes 1-2 surgical technicians per case. The unit utilizes advanced equipment such as Davinci XI robots, Globus and Mako systems, microscopes, and other standard OR tools. Procedures performed include high-volume general and neurosurgical operations, including craniotomies, orthopedic, robotic, urology, plastic, and transplant surgeries. The role demands a friendly, compassionate approach to patient care.
- Dress Code: Facility will provide scrubs. Nail policy requires clean, healthy nails without gel or artificial enhancements. Neat and clean hair with no extreme styles or colors is enforced. Beards and mustaches should be tidy, tattoos should be covered whenever possible, and visible piercings other than earrings are prohibited.
