Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse in Tacoma, Washington. This position involves providing specialized care to premature and high-risk neonatal patients in a Level II children’s hospital with a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: WA state license, BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications, minimum of 2 years of experience in Level III-IV NICU, and applicable education.
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: WA state license, BLS and NRP certifications, minimum 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with surgical patients and hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE).
- Floating: Possibly to Emergency Room to act as a sitter, but rare.
- Additional Information: Position located in a private room NICU within a pediatric hospital attached to an adult hospital, with high-risk labor and delivery, overflow nursery for feeders/growers, and potential block scheduling (not guaranteed).
