Job Summary:
A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) is sought for a busy LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) unit in Lewiston, Maine. This position involves providing care for neonates and adult obstetrical patients, with responsibilities including managing a three-couplet assignment, triaging obstetrical patients, and utilizing external fetal heart monitoring. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Location: Lewiston, Maine
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, three days per week, with rotating shifts and self-scheduling.
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Required Certifications: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Education & Experience: Must have at least 2+ years of experience in Labor and Delivery (L&D), Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP), and postpartum (PP) care.
- Qualifications: Experience managing obstetrical and neonatal patients, including use of external fetal heart monitoring, establishing peripheral IVs, administering antihypertensives and insulin drips, assisting with deliveries, and postpartum procedures. Must be able to manage a three-couplet assignment.
- Equipment & Systems: Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM), EPIC electronic health record, Pwerchart / Omnicell medication system.
- Additional Information: No first-time travelers; no pre-approved RIME offer per contract.
- Unit Details: Bed capacity of 24; patient ratios approximately 1:6; census typically ranges from 3 to 24 patients.
