Labor and Delivery (L&D) Mother/Baby Couplet Care Nurse — Richmond, Virginia
The organization is seeking a Labor and Delivery (L&D) Mother/Baby Couplet Care Nurse to provide care for patients on the Maternal Infant Unit. Responsibilities include supporting labor and delivery, performing newborn and postpartum care, and caring for antepartum patients. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) fetal monitoring certification; at least 2 years of labor experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years of labor experience with a history working in a Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) setting with high birth volumes.
- Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care for vaginal deliveries
- Provide nursing care for cesarean deliveries
- Care for antepartum patients
- Provide newborn and postpartum care
- Support maternal-infant unit workflows during assigned shifts
- Additional Information:
- Weekends and on-call: Every third weekend with 12 hours of call per 4-week schedule
- Shift coverage: 4 positions available
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs; Maternal Infant Unit nurses have pink badges for infant security
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must bring their license on the first day.
