Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MedSurg/Telemetry) is needed for a healthcare organization located in Shelby, North Carolina. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment with a diverse patient population, including cardiac, respiratory, and neurological diagnoses. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of work. This position requires a minimum of 18 months of MedSurgical and Telemetry experience and is scheduled for night shifts. The assignment spans a start date of 07/20/2026, with a schedule cycle every 6 weeks.

Job Details:

  • Shift Hours: 0645-1915; 1845-0715
  • Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
  • Required Qualifications: NC license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications; at least 6 months of EMR experience with EPIC; 18 months of MedSurg/Telemetry RN experience; basic MedSurg/Telemetry skill set including cardiac rhythm interpretation, non-titrating cardiac drips (such as Cardizem or Amiodarone), care of patients with tubes and drains, IV start skills, blood products, wound care/dressing changes; valid NC license; ability to work night shifts; no minimum years of experience required specific to this position, but must meet the experience duration specified.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with remote telemetry monitoring and within a multi-facility region.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to all facilities within region 3 (Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, and Central Division). Floating mid-shift will be paid for travel time between facilities and remains on the clock.
  • Support within the Department: CNA ratio of 1:12; no HUC; charge nurse may have a patient assignment but functions as a resource; support staff includes phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, RT, hospitalist (on-site days and virtual in evenings/overnights), intensivist (24/7), and telemetry techs.
  • Orientation: Two days of departmental orientation (NEO).
  • Scheduling: Every other weekend rotation; possibility of low census call (called back up to 3 a.m. for Nights and 3 p.m. for Days); can approve up to 6 days of RTO, excluding holidays, with additional time added if contracted hours are not met.
  • Other Notes: Scrub color: navy; free parking; unit culture described as 'awesome'. Travel will involve working 75% of holidays.
