Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MedSurg/Telemetry) is needed in Rome, Georgia. This position involves providing direct patient care in various units including Medical Surgical, Critical Care, and Emergency Department settings. Candidates are required to bring their licensure on the first day. The role demands a commitment to teamwork and swift patient response, with a focus on telemetry monitoring.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, on a 13-week cycle.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license (ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, CPI) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the requested specialty. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neurological Integrity (NIHSS), and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with basic arrhythmia interpretation, Foley catheter irrigation, PCA, Epidural, CPM, Buck's traction, drains, and chest tube management; knowledge of cardiac drips, neuro, cardiac, pulmonary, orthopedics, trauma, and surgical patient care.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required within all medical surgical and critical care areas, including emergency department boarders.
  • Additional Information:
    • Orientation includes a one-week facility and unit-specific onboarding.
    • Support staff includes CNA/nurse technicians, respiratory therapists, phlebotomists, educators, staffing specialists, and safety sitters.
    • Technology utilized includes EPIC electronic medical record system, Glucommander, cardiac monitors, BiPap, ventilators, Alaris pumps, virtual RN, and virtual patient observers.
    • Weekend rotation occurs every other week; on-call duties are rare and based on census.
    • Participation in the RTO process allows up to 7 days of approved time off if the traveler extends the contract.
    • Parking is free and the department emphasizes teamwork, quick response to call lights and patient needs, particularly telemetry monitoring.
