Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry at a healthcare facility located in Macon, Georgia. This position involves providing care for post and pre-cardiac patients, managing various diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, SEPSIS, and similar conditions. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) license, minimum of 2 years of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience, and valid certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS) and Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR).
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, on a rotating schedule every 6 weeks.
- Preferred Qualifications: ACLS certification and a current Medical-Surgical nursing national certification are preferred but not required.
- Additional Information:
- Census: 30 patients
- Patient Ratios: RN: 1:4-6, CNA: 2-3 per shift
- Support within the Department: CNA duties include vitals, glucose checks, patient mobility, and transportation. Unit secretary available from 7a-11p; house-wide call secretary from 11p-7a.
- Resources and coverage: 24/7 telemetry monitoring/tech, hospitalist, intensivist, and RT support.
- Technology/Equipment: EMR system (EPIC), Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Phillips monitors, and vital sign monitors.
- Orientation includes one day of educational modules and two departmental days.
