Job Summary:
A Med/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Concord, North Carolina. This role involves providing specialized patient care in a unit with 14 private rooms, focusing on medical and telemetry nursing. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position entails working primarily night shifts and offers an environment characterized by professionalism and a team-oriented culture.

Job Details:

  • Location: Concord, North Carolina
  • Position: Medical Surgical with Telemetry RN
  • Shift: Nights (Schedule cycle every 6 weeks; shifts from 0645-1915 and 1845-0715)
  • Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
  • Start Date: 08/03/2026
  • Required Qualifications:
    • 18 months of Medical/Surgical Telemetry (MS TELE) Registered Nurse (RN) experience
    • Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
    • Active nursing license in the state of North Carolina
    • Proficiency in PIV starts, NG tube placement/management, Pleurx drains, management of surgical drains, and chest tube management
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification preferred but not required
  • Patient Ratios: RN: 1:4-5; CNA: Days - 1:7; Nights - 1:11-14
  • Support and Resources within Department:
    • Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) assisting with ADLs, bathing, foley care, mobility, and repositioning, trained in phlebotomy, 12-lead EKGs, glucometers
    • Charge nurse typically assigned with patients
    • Phlebotomy performed through a collaborative effort between RNs, CNAs, and IV team
    • IV/VAT team available
    • Resource nurse when staffing allows
    • Hospitalists and RTs (respiratory therapists) available 24/7 but not dedicated solely to this unit
    • Telemetry monitored remotely in off-unit arrhythmia center as ordered
  • Technology & Equipment:
    • IV Pumps: Alaris
    • Medication Dispensing: Omnicell
    • Monitors: Phillips
    • Unit-specific equipment: Bladder scanner, EKG machine, transport monitor
  • Floating Policy: Within the region and scope of practice, including facilities in Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH for pediatrics). Floating mid-shift is paid for travel time.
  • Orientation: Two days departmental, followed by facility orientation (NEO)
  • Additional Notes:
    • Scrub color: Navy
    • Free parking available
    • No call required; every other weekend rotation
    • Travelers will work 75% of holidays
    • RTO (Return to Office) requests: up to 6 days off, excluding holidays, with potential to add time if needed to meet contracted hours
