Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Oncology Floor Registered Nurse position located in Springfield, Illinois. This assignment involves working on an oncology unit with a focus on chemotherapy administration, patient care, and related procedures. Candidates are required to bring their Illinois license on the first day. The role demands a minimum of one year of experience in a similar setting and adherence to specific certification requirements. The schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts during daytime hours.

Job Details:

  • Location: Springfield, IL
  • Schedule: 3x12 Days (7:15 AM – 6:45 PM), minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Active Illinois license, minimum 1 year of related experience, Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC), BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Cerner charting system experience, previous hospital or oncology unit experience, completion of relevant certifications.
  • Additional Information: Floating within hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals is required. Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays. A valid Illinois license must be in hand at the time of submission. Vietnam-Veterans eligible for exemptions on vaccinations must provide appropriate documentation.
  • Certifications: Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC), BLS, Illinois license (must have at submission).
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year clinical experience in an oncology setting.
  • Submittal Requirements: Provide 2-3 interview times upon submission. SSN and DOB are required at the time of application. Pending references can be submitted.
  • Medication and Procedures: Administration of chemotherapy, management of cytotoxic spills, port care, blood product administration, IV start and management, and recognition of abnormal lab values.
