Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Nurse specializing in Orthopedics and Total Joint Replacements is sought for a position located in West Des Moines, Iowa. The role involves working on a Medical Surgical Floor with experience in total joints replacement, braces, and cardiac medication administration. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment. The shift is nights, with a minimum of 48 hours per week, starting on 07/20/2026.
Job Details:

- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shift, minimum 48 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: 24 months of current Medical Surgical (MS) or Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience in a hospital or medical center setting; Orthopedics/Rehabilitation experience; experience with total joints replacement and braces; experience administering medication specific to cardiac conditions, including IV/intravenous push; active Iowa/IA license or compact/multistate license at time of submission; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with types of care such as total joint replacements and braces; familiarity with EPIC EMR system; professional references from within the past 24 months; valid driver’s license; American Heart Association (AHA) or ARC/Red Cross BLS certification
- Additional Information: The assignment requires working 1-2 of the upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day). The candidate may be required to float across multiple campuses.
