Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor (MS) unit located in Utica, New York, is seeking qualified professionals for night shift assignments. The position involves caring for patients with common diagnoses such as stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation, and general medical conditions. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of shift.
Job Details:
- Location: Utica, NY
- Shift: Nights, 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m., with block scheduling (not always guaranteed)
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Required Qualifications: Valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license, current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (can be obtained prior to start), at least 2 years of experience in medical surgical units with stroke stepdown experience, current drivers license matching demographics, current NURSYS report indicating active NY license and all active RN licenses, and experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) – Epic.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in stroke and stepdown units, proficiency with Epic EMR system, and current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Additional Information: This assignment requires floating; team members should be comfortable working across multiple units and patient conditions. Scrub color for personnel is navy blue.
