Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse located in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. This position is part of a float pool, requiring candidates to provide general medical-surgical care across various units within the hospital. The role involves managing diverse patient conditions, including oncology, orthopedics, neuro observation, and cardiac post-procedure patients. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

  • Location: Sheboygan, WI
  • Shift Time: Nights, 1845-0715 and 0645-1915 shifts available
  • Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
  • Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
  • Skills Required: Chest tubes, stable tracheostomy management, IV skills, port/central lines, CPAP/BiPAP/Airvo knowledge (RT will manage equipment), Foley insertion and care, feeding tubes, cardiac rhythm interpretation, titrating drips (e.g., Cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, argatroeban), EPIC experience
  • Experience: 2 years MedSurg experience, EPIC EMR experience required
  • Support on the Unit: HUC (Days only), CNA (vitals and blood glucose, no IV insertions/removals), Charge nurse manages patient assignments, Phlebotomy (peripheral lab draws), RT 24/7, Hospitalist 24/7 via secure chat, remote telemonitoring with Tele tech
  • Orientation: One full shift for login access, paperwork, and Epic login; remainder of orientation on the assigned unit(s), with possible brief orientation to new units
  • Patient Ratios: Days: 1:4-6, Nights: 1:6
  • Scheduling: Every other weekend rotation; schedule created 4-6 weeks in advance; manager approval required for RTO
  • Additional Notes: Scrub color: Any solid, professional. Free parking. Traveler-friendly, strong teamwork culture. May work 50% of holidays.
