Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor (MS) Nurse — Nights (Portsmouth, NH). The organization is seeking a Medical Surgical Floor Nurse to provide bedside care in a telemetry-capable unit. Responsibilities include bedside shift reporting, safety rounding, and performing patient care tasks such as telemetry monitoring and IV-related procedures, with required active licensure at submission. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shifts; minimum 36.0 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Active RN license (active license at submission); Basic Life Support (BLS); IV certification; 2 years of hospital experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Med-Surg experience
- Responsibilities:
- Perform bedside shift report and participate in hourly safety rounding
- Support personal connections with patients as part of patient experience expectations
- Provide telemetry monitoring and obtain/perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) as needed (PRN)
- Complete patient care procedures including intermittent catheterization/continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), wound care, drain management (including chest tubes and Jackson Pratt drains), foley insertion, central line dressing changes, and telemetry monitoring
- Float: Float to same level of care
- Additional Information:
- Self-scheduling available, with leadership reserving the right to communicate schedule needs to balance staffing
- Staffing includes unit secretary coverage on day shift only and nursing assistants (LNA’s) for both shifts
- Scrubs (any color) are required
- Rotating holidays and weekends are expected
