Job Summary: Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (MS) — Phoenix, Arizona
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 12-hour days role on an acute medical/surgical and telemetry unit. Responsibilities include delivering direct patient care for common medical conditions, maintaining sterile technique, and completing unit-required skills and training components during onboarding. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12hr days; 36 minimum hours per week; 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks
  • Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; license (required to be brought on the first day); recent medical/surgical experience (minimum requirement)
  • Preferred Qualifications: Charge nurse experience; telemetry experience (in case of floating within the hospital)
  • Responsibilities: Provide nursing care for post-op, sepsis, pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes, and infection patient populations; competently maintain sterile fields; complete required onboarding skills and training, including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (as applicable to the unit); participate in lifts, restraints, and wound care education components
  • Certifications & Onboarding Requirements: Level 1 trauma experience required; Dysrhythmia (DYS) exam required prior to accepting (2 attempts; if failed, not eligible for 6 months with designated regions); simulation skills onboarding required to include Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (exceptions apply based on the specific unit)
  • Additional Information: Telemetry assignment may be required when floating; if a candidate indicates they are not competent in maintaining sterile field and related sterile technique requirements, they may not be a fit for the role; holidays are worked based on unit coverage
